Located at Longview Public Library, Longview, Washington, The Genealogy collection resides on the upper mezzanine and contains over 3000 volumes of genealogical research books. A joint project of Lower Columbia Genealogical Society and the Longview Public Library, the collection contains both local county records and resources for general genealogical research.
In addition to local county records, there are books covering all other states and many countries. It is a rather astounding book collection for such a community our size.
You can use excellent finding aids, state-wide indexes and lists, how to books, books explaining various records, books on adoption, census indexes, county history bibliographies, immigration and passenger lists and indexes, military record indexes, periodical indexes, collected genealogies, and indexes and abstracts of local county records.
